How I Learned the Art of Making Love [REPOST]

November 25th 2009 in *Wet Wednesdays/Erotica, Writing/Fiction

sex w socks on

Over the course of the past few months, my weekly erotica series, Wet Wednesdays, has become quite popular here on the blogosphere. It even won the judges’ vote this past summer in the 2009 Black Weblog Awards. Being that tomorrow is a major holiday in the States, I know a lot of folks in these parts are probably traveling to be with family and the last thing on your mind are one of my freaky tales.

Or maybe not.

Not one to let down those fiending for their weekly dose of erotica, I decided to deliver a special Wet Wednesdays for you. It’s actually my very first piece of erotic writing that was published in The Source’s sex issue back in 2000.

This particular piece shocked a lot of my co-workers when a young 23-year-old NWSO successfully penned a story that represented a male perspective on the art of making love. It was actually a companion piece to a female writer’s perspective on the art of fucking.

The idea was to flip the script on the stereotype that all men think about is fucking and women only think about making love. At any rate, the article was a success and I got quite a few phone calls after the piece was published from people saying, “I didn’t know you could write like that.”

As hard as it may seem to regular Wet Wednesdays readers, I didn’t know I could write like that either. To be completely honest, I never had any plans to be a sex and relationship writer. I kind of just fell into it. It’s funny looking back at this almost nine-year-old story that I’ve actually been dabbling in erotica longer than I realized.

Go figure.

As always I appreciate your continued support and dedication. Remember, this is our blog so guest entries are always welcome. I want to thank the brave souls that have shared their stories and opinions thus far and the other readers for being open to other voices from time to time on the blog.

Without further ado, though, feel free to check out today’s archival post.

Definitely let me know what you think of the post and how far I’ve grown as an erotic writer—if at all. Let me know if you can relate to the story and if you remember the person that helped make you a better lover? If so, why?

Have a happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it and speak your piece…

Happy Thanksgiving Anselm!

As I live in Canada and am not celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, I have time to read your post this morning.

Anyway, I loved the ‘I Found Love In This Club’ piece. As you say it was well written, even though I think the tone of the writing is a little different that what you produce now (i.e. yes, you have grown as a writer).

Re person who made me a better lover or in my case a lover at all – I do remember him. He was my first, and probably was the gentlest, most giving and patient lover I’ve had to date. Every time we were together, it was all about me. Too bad I was too inexperienced to know what I had at the time.

I’m working today..so I had time to read your post.

I agree with Skye Blue, your writing has greatly improved over the years. However, the flow of, “I found love in this club”, captured the wonderment of a young man who experienced “making love” for the first time. There’s nothing like a good hard fuck, but making love is so much more sweeter.

I can’t say there’s been one specific person who made me a better lover. I suppose I have developed my skills over the years. Being in love, and being loved has helped a great deal. Also loving sex and remaining open to new experiences keeps my juices flowing!

Me, I haven’t found a man that willl take the time. Sex is always rushed and selfish. I’m 33 and when I’m by myself it’s the best. My bf is 39 and we just have sex because I love him. To me a man should be able to please you with not just his penis. The penis should be a bonus…….

You are DEFINITELY talented, especially so in erotic writing. I am sure that the growth of your talent plays a part in how entertaining and interesting these posts have become, but I will also guess that you have become more comfortable with sharing what you have ALWAYS had. Even when I don’t get a chance to post as much as I would like to, I am STILL the biggest fan of NWSO…don’t ever stop!!!

Have the Happiest Thanksgiving!!!

What if Your Boo Smashed the Homie? (Sharing Lovers)

While getting my regular dose of reality TV the other day, I caught last week’s episode of For the Love of Ray J 2 (yeah, I watch it—sue me). If you’re not familiar with the show, there was this girl last season named Danger that it turns out had slept with one of Ray J’s [...]
