Just so you know, over the entire period (sic) of that 5 day ‘head week’, the maximum amount of Aunt Flow is usually about a quarter to a third of a cup. Seriously. Its not like women are unleashing copious and uncontrollable amounts of blood! So, jumping the red light every now and then should not be too much of a big deal. Obviously, it varies from person to person, and a woman with fibroids for instance will have to deal with more Aunt Flow than other women, etc.

Of course, with doing red lights, the more creative a couple, the better. I mean, its not all about towels, plunging in there, and/or head, people can get quite adventurous and satisfied (and safe) without creating a crime scene suggesting a bloodbath.
And of course, we do have the option, a la Elle, to go on the (semi)perma pill. I guess if it works for you, go for it. My man works in the medical field, and he has no problem with Aunt Flow because he says he has seen more disgusting things, which I cannot repeat here, but suffice it to say that there are worse things than dealing with less than half a cup of blood.
