Greatest Hits (Blog Marathon 2.1) #91

October 2nd 2008 in 30 in 30, Pt. 2, Best Of: Loose Threads, Writing/Fiction

Okay, the 30-day marathon is complete and I want to thank each and every person that checked in for the journey. If you joined late and have no idea what the marathon was even about CLICK HERE for the introduction and if you want to know how it ended CLICK HERE. I will say this, though, I woke up this morning so confused. Sleeping past sunrise I was lost as to what I was supposed to do and when. Not sure when I’m supposed to eat, what time I’m supposed to shower, or what time I’m supposed to leave. It’s crazy how used I got used to the fasting schedule. I think I may have to go back to it, minus the three blogs a day.
Now I know the original plan was for a mere 30 blogs in 30 days, but somehow that quickly morphed into a whopping 90 blogs in 30 days. It sounded good in theory, but I realized later that it was a bit overwhelming for some of my readers and probably scared a few folks off. In fact, I lost a handful of subscribers over the past four weeks, but such is life. (Come back, pleaseeee! LOL :)

So with all the damn blogging and folks trying to keep up and failing miserably I figured I’d scale back to the original 30 blogs concept by presenting my 15 Greatest Hits and my 15 Greatest Misses from the marathon. Think of it like Jay-Z’s Blueprint 2.1, where he compacted his double album into one succinct disc with his best material. The Hits are the 15 posts that got the most comments and feedback, and the Misses are the ones that were really good (in my humble opinion) but got lost in the shuffle.

So without further ado, here’s Pt. 1 of The Blog Marathon 2.1: The Greatest Hits

If you read them all before maybe you can recount the experience with me, or tell a friend to tell a friend that may have missed the marathon. It’s a quick way to catch up. Either way just click the links and enjoy!

DAY 02: THIS THING CALLED LOVE (CROSSROADS)
My personal theory on how love is just around the corner if you stay on course long enough to find it. CLICK HERE to read.

DAY 01: THE UNTOLD FACT
An extremely personal account that I really don’t want to talk about. It was a major part of my mental purging and set the marathon off with a bang. CLICK HERE to read.

DAY 14: DON’T CALL ME I’LL CALL YOU… MAYBE
A hilarious story about a girl that tried to holla at me and how I mishandled the whole thing. CLICK HERE to read.

DAY 18: SPERM DONOR WANTED (NO THANKS)
Ladies, if you were getting up in age and wanted a child, would you ask a close friend to be a sperm donor? Fellas, would you agree to that? CLICK HERE to read.

DAY 09: I AM NOT THE ONE (EVERYTHING I AM)
A million and one reasons why I am not the right man for “her,” whoever she is. CLICK HERE to read.

My father and I don’t have the best of relationships, here’s a live recount of when I finally confronted him about being absent from my life for over 30 years. CLICK HERE to read.

DAY 08: PRETTY BROWN EYES
Crushes can be killer; this one inspired a story, a poem and a new outlook on life. CLICK HERE to read.
