DAY 6: Celebrity Crush—Cheetara 17/90
Yes, I’m talking about that Cheetara, the one from the old Thundercats cartoon. Now I know she’s an animated character and not a real woman (she’s a half woman/half feline, actually) but as a kid, I used to think that Cheetara had it going on. While that little confession may sound weird to some, I know for a fact I’m not alone in this particular childhood crush.
I’ve had conversations with several male ’70s babies and a few ’80s babies that admitted to having a thing for Cheetara growing up as well. I mean look at her, she was five-foot FINE—even covered from head to pretty ass toes in fur. Although there was a higher probability for hairballs, you couldn’t go wrong with Cheetara, she was like a superhero track runner.
I don’t care what anybody says or thinks, Cheetara was hot. She was physically fit, agile, super fast, had a special sixth sense for danger, and knew how to handle a stick (a baton was her weapon of choice, get your mind out the gutter, people). To top it all off, she had the older (cat)woman thing going for her too. I bet if Cheetara were real, she’d be a cougar looking to bag a young sprung cub like me.
Besides, I always had a strong feeling that under all that fur, Cheetara was a sister. I mean seriously, who else but Black parents would name their child Cheetara? I bet her last name was Jenkins, Johnson or Jackson. Yeah, Cheetara Jackson, that just has a certain ring to it. I’m sorry Ms. Jackson, I am for realllll…..
Come on, fellas, don’t leave me out to dry on this one. I know a bunch of y’all reading this, and probably a few girls too, had a secret crush on Cheetara as a kid. I’m just not afraid to admit it. Or maybe this fast is making me delusional. LOL
Speak ya piece…
